About The Role

National Grid is looking for an Ethics Case Manager to support our Speak Up program, a key role in the Ethics team reporting to the Global Ethics Director. The successful candidate will be a proactive individual with an ability to manage intake and logging of all reports received by the Global Ethics office. The Intake Manager will actively monitor all internal and external reporting channels, working closely with the US and UK Investigations Managers.

What You’ll Do

  • Monitor internal and external reporting channels for new ethics reports.
  • Log all ethics inquiries and concerns in the Navex database.
  • Perform triage of all ethics reports to identify concerns requiring investigation.
  • Liaise with business and People teams in the US and UK to refer reports not requiring investigation.
  • Consult with the US and UK Investigations Managers to assign cases for investigation.
  • Consult with the Ethics Director and Global Case and Reporting Manager to ensure accurate and consistent coding of cases.
  • Accountable for case management of all allegations received, tracking and monitoring all cases and ensuring they progress towards resolution in line with industry standards.
  • Work with the US and UK Heads of Investigations to conduct regular case reviews to determine appropriate case processes, including whether to investigate or refer internally for resolution.
  • Ensure that cases requiring investigation are promptly assigned and resolved within target time‑frames and in line with industry standards.
  • Support as needed with identification of control weaknesses and remedial action plans.
  • Support as needed with the implementation of remedial action plans to address control weaknesses and report progress as needed.
  • Help facilitate a “safe‑to‑say” culture where employees feel comfortable raising ethics and compliance concerns.
  • Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with other key functions (Legal, HR, etc.) to support the case triage process.

What You’ll Need

  • Professional experience managing ethics and/or compliance, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, together with relevant professional accreditations in investigations, ethics or compliance.
  • Ability to operate case management databases and dashboards, such as Navex and PowerBI.
  • Ability to effectively prioritise tasks while interfacing with multiple stakeholders.
  • Service provider attitude and commitment supporting internal customers.
  • Excellent analytical and agile reasoning skills with ability to identify trends in investigations and assess underlying causes.
  • Strong ethical awareness and integrity, with the ability to make unbiased, objective decisions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with a wide variety of stakeholders and build effective working relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to identify, evaluate and resolve ethical issues.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, with ability to manage a busy reporting schedule.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail‑oriented mindset, with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
