This position is based from one of our main offices (Warwick/London/Bristol/Derby/Leeds) however we offer flexible hybrid working options.

Job Purpose

As a PMO Lead you will support the delivery of Net Zero infrastructure projects with best practice project management techniques. You will provide an analytical overview of what is happening across multiple projects with similar resources and significant budgets. You will provide an accurate, consistent view that will enable our projects to run as efficiently as possible.

What You'll Do

  • Working directly with the Project Director and their team to develop and implement a PMO roadmap.
  • Developing risk, schedule, and cost metrics, and reporting on these to the Project Director.
  • Providing an accurate picture of progress against baseline and engaging in all aspects of the planning process on your projects.
  • Ensuring the process is working, and that data is robust throughout the critical path and integrated National Grid and contractor programmes.
  • Managing and co‑ordinating the Planners, Risk Engineers, Reporting Analysts and Document Controllers assigned to your projects.
  • Collaborating with other stakeholders including construction project teams, project delivery teams, business development teams, the Regulation and Reporting Team, and other PMO Leads across National Grid.
  • Providing and supporting regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Co‑ordinating with the Commercial Stakeholder and Delivery Strategy Team to maintain and support resource utilisation across the project during longer‑term strategic resource demand or phasing.
  • Planning and ensuring best practice planning support is driven across the team to ensure baseline projects meet their project milestones.
  • Providing specialist support on risk management, including assurance of risk registers and ensuring risks are mitigated and retired through the project lifecycle.
  • Performance reporting and providing portfolio level support for a specific area of the National Grid workbook.
  • Ensuring the team has the relevant project and business level performance metrics to deliver to time, cost, quality and safety.
  • Taking ownership of the change control process to ensure that baseline change is managed, from creation of the change request to the implementation in the relevant system, to time and cost.

About You

  • Driving Licence is required.
  • You are analytical and focussed, with the ability to quickly pick up technical detail and information, even when you’re not a subject matter expert.
  • You have advanced knowledge of project and programme management and preferably know how these are applied in National Grid.
  • Leadership experience is essential. You have experience of leading change in a PMO environment and managing a wide group of stakeholders.
  • You have a working knowledge of, and ideally experience in, facilitating risk workshops, undertaking quantitative risk analysis and scheduling risk analysis.
  • Project controls experience is essential and you’ll have advanced knowledge of project and programme management.

What You'll Get

A competitive salary between £59,000 - £72,000 dependent on capability. As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus of up to 30% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
