The predicted salary is between 70000 - 85000 £ per year.

What's in it for you? Salary of £70,000 p.a. to £85,000 p.a. depending on experience. In addition to base salary you will receive a bonus of up to 30% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%. We’re recruiting an English-law qualified solicitor or barrister with experience in commercial and/or construction law, ideally within the energy sector. Your superpower? Providing clear, strategic legal advice that enables innovation and accelerates the transition to a cleaner future.

This role will provide legal support on a wide-ranging portfolio of legal work relating to NGV’s interconnectors. Such work will include:

  • A mix of commercial contract negotiations and drafting across a wide range of contracts which support NGV interconnector projects (these may include construction agreements utilising industry standard forms);
  • Regulatory and compliance advice in the context of a portfolio of licenced and regulated energy infrastructure assets;
  • Support with the management of long-term joint venture agreements, including associated governance arrangements;
  • Support to the interconnectors land and consents teams in connection with the land rights associated with the interconnector portfolio and interactions with other land/asset owners.

About you:

  • Qualified solicitor or barrister with experience in commercial and/or construction law, acquired in private practice and/or within an in-house legal team;
  • Ideally you will specifically have experience of providing commercial and regulatory advice in the energy infrastructure sector or a willingness to learn (regulatory training will be given where necessary);
  • Ideally you will have experience of Construction Law and ideally use of NEC and other standard forms;
  • Excellent communicator, also able to listen effectively in a team or business environment and build strong relationships.
