The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 Β£ per year.

An opportunity is available for a temporary Technician position for up to 6 months (subject to review) based at Hinckley.

You will report to the Team Manager and be responsible for the construction, maintenance, and repair of the underground and overhead network up to 66kV. Your duties will include programming and monitoring work colleagues, switching up to 66kV, issuing safety documentation, and other tasks relevant to the Technician role.

Applicants must have grade A*-C/4-9 GCSEs in English and Maths or a Functional Skills Level 2 qualification in both subjects. Additionally, a City & Guilds 2339 Level 2 or equivalent Level 2 qualification in Electrical Engineering is required. Evidence of qualifications will be needed prior to appointment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Network operations, including issuing Limitations of Access and Permit to Work safety documents up to 66kV.
  • Construction of distribution substations, overhead lines, and associated plant; installation of plant; laying and jointing cables up to 11kV.
  • Repair and replacement of faulty and obsolete plant, cables, and overhead lines.
  • Recording asset routes, details, and positions.

Ideal Candidate

The candidate must work independently and as part of a small team, making decisions on the spot. Good communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines are essential. The role may require training in SAP and mobility across the area for standby duties as part of a formal rota.

If not already attained, the successful candidate will need to undertake a Level 3 City & Guilds 2339 qualification.

*Please note the initial salary may be lower until all relevant courses and training are completed.
