As an Operational Compliance Officer, you will be required to live within the South-East of England. You’ll work within the SHES and Compliance team to coordinate safety initiatives at our operational locations. You’ll have the flexibility to work from home dependent on the needs of the business and the requirement to be on site for auditing and work delivery. The ideal candidate would reside in the Southampton or Portsmouth area.
What You’ll Do
- Manage all substation statutory documentation across the zone attending site compliance visits.
- Administer commercial site vehicle fleet and act as single point of contact for fleet provider.
- Act as single point of contact for zonal issues including waste management contract/technical surveys.
- Attend zonal working groups as required.
- Manage zonal budgets for PPE, tools, training, stationary and commercial vehicle fleet.
- Track all zonal health & safety and compliance actions ensuring timely closure.
- Lead on zonal initiatives and/or working groups supporting Health & Wellbeing and Engagement.
- Act as technical secretary for medium level investigations writing reports.
- Coordinate zonal training requirements as the single point of contact.
- Manage and control substation access requests maintaining control of access key issues and returns.
- Manage zonal calibration ensuring all test equipment and tools are compliant with procedures.
- Coordinate electrical equipment PAT testing ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.

Essential
- A full driving licence that permits you to drive in the UK.
- Level 3 qualification or an equivalent recognised apprenticeship.
- Experience of administration and reporting.
- An attitude to learn and be able to be flexible to change the work carried out and ways of working to suit the rapidly changing needs of the Zone towards compliance.
- Competency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Desirable
- NEBOSH General Certificate.
- Experience of training coordination.
- Experience of workload planning.
- Substation experience.
- Experience of budget management.
- Level 3 qualification or an equivalent recognised apprenticeship (desired in these disciplines but not excluded to Engineering, H&S, Compliance or Business Administration).
- Experience in completing audits or inspections.
