We operate a number of HVDC Interconnectors that connect the UK’s energy system to some of our closest neighbours, allowing energy to be imported to and exported from the UK. As well as already owning a portfolio of HVDC Interconnectors, we’re working on developing new projects to ensure that we are able to meet the UK’s future demands for greener energy solutions. We are currently recruiting for a Contracts and Commercial Manager within the UJV Operations team within National Grid Ventures. Reporting to the Deputy Head of Contract Management, the Contracts and Commercial Manager is responsible for managing the end-to-end contractual life cycle and relationships with suppliers. As a Contracts and Commercial Manager you will proactively engage with your suppliers to enhance the working relationships and be the key commercial contact for the IFA2 site team and advise on best practice in Contract Management. This role comes with direct line management as you will have a Contracts Analyst supporting with the management of our contracts. If you have a knowledge and understanding of general contract management, identifying commercial risks, monitoring compliance and supplier relationship management we would love to hear from you! This role is hybrid and will be ideal for someone in the Portsmouth/Fareham area to allow them to be on site at IFA2 at least 2 days per week. Otherwise, this role would be based at Warwick. We’re happy to discuss any additional flexibility in working patterns or requirements that you feel could help to make this job work for you. Key Accountabilities Develop and manage contracts to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations. Raise and manage purchase orders and invoices, tracking costs for payments. Collaborate with various departments to ensure business requirements are met. You are able to support the day-to-day requirements of our Stakeholders and processing Spend Request Form\’s for services, managing and monitoring contracts and tracking costs for payments. You’ll be the key commercial contact for the IFA2 site team and advise on best practice in Contract Management. Support the development of our contract management maturity as we look to improve how we manage our supply chain across our portfolio, this will involve working on a wide range of inter-team and business improvement projects as part of your day-to-day role. Auditing our supply chain to ensure their compliance with their contractual obligations Monitor contract performance and address any issues that arise or escalate where required. Support on contract-related matters to other team members and stakeholders. Provide challenge and review of processes to ensure consistency and enable improvements. About You Experience in contract management in a construction and/or operational environment, including warranty management. Commercial acumen and supply chain management skills Working knowledge of Microsoft applications (e.g. PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook) Understanding or appreciation of FastDraft and/or other contract management systems. What You\’ll Get A competitive salary between £46,415 – £54,703.50– dependent on capability. As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
