As a Construction Sustainability Advisor, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our projects are delivered sustainably, responsibly, and with a lasting positive legacy. This is your opportunity to shape how major infrastructure is delivered – minimising carbon, enhancing biodiversity, and embedding sustainability into everything we do on site and beyond.

Working on Eastern Green Link 3 (EGL3), you’ll operate across the East Midlands – balancing site, office and hybrid working, with regular travel to Glasgow to stay connected to one of the UK’s most critical energy projects.

What you'll be doing

  • Partner with Sustainability Managers and project teams to develop and deliver project sustainability strategies
  • Champion sustainability across projects – bringing our ambition to life for teams, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Lead on best practice and frameworks, including PAS 2080
  • Support contractors to meet – and exceed – ambitious sustainability targets
  • Act as the go-to expert for sustainability advice across project delivery
  • Track, measure, and report on performance – influencing key project decisions
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement
  • Promote a strong SHESQ culture and sustainable construction practices on-site

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience delivering sustainability or environmental outcomes on major infrastructure or construction projects
  • Strong understanding of sustainability frameworks and best practice
  • Experience working with contractors and multidisciplinary teams
  • Confident stakeholder manager, able to influence at all levels
  • Excellent communicator – able to make sustainability clear, practical, and actionable
  • Passionate about driving positive environmental change
  • Highly organised with strong delivery focus
  • Degree (or equivalent) in environmental, sustainability, or related field
  • Full UK driving licence (site travel required)

What you'll get

A competitive salary between £54,000 - £65,000 – dependent on capability. As well as your base salary, you will receive a job requirement company car, a bonus based on personal performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%. You will also have access to a number of flexible benefits such as a share incentive plan, salary sacrifice car and technology schemes, support via employee assistance lines and matched charity giving to name a few.
