At National Grid, we are looking for a talented ServiceNow Engineer to help shape the future of our enterprise platform. In this role, you will design and deliver innovative, enterprise-grade solutions that power critical operations across the business. You will bring your expertise in ServiceNow architecture, development best practices, and platform governance to create scalable, high-quality solutions. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, you will be at the heart of transforming how we work—driving efficiency, reliability, and excellence. What You’ll Do

  • Develop and maintain ServiceNow solutions following best practices and standards.
  • Monitor platform health, usage, and compliance.
  • Collaborate on upgrade strategies and implement major version upgrades and patches.
  • Leverage plug-ins and app store components for integrations and development.
  • Capture business requirements in an agile way and deliver reusable workflows that drive performance.
  • Validate change requests and manage platform demands.
  • Set standards for Mid Server deployment and usage.
  • Conduct security and performance audits with remediation.
  • Expert JavaScript development skills and experience with Core Java, Web Services, and Jelly scripting.
  • Strong analytical ability to turn complex business needs into smart solutions.
  • Skilled at balancing business, cost, and technology priorities to deliver the best outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across global teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, Agile/Scrum environment and manage multiple projects.
  • Proven relationship-building and influencing skills with both IT and business leaders.
  • Flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities and rapid change.

  • Competitive Salary: circa £55,000 - £65,000 per annum (based on capability, and experience)
