In the project construction phase you’ll be National Grid’s Site Manager ensuring delivery of Substation infrastructure projects for new build electricity transmission assets or refurbishment works. As a single point of contact you’ll manage site works in full compliance with approved national grid procedures and CDM regulations, this includes the supervision of resources for National Grid teams and sub-contractors ensuring robust health and safety management processes are maintained. Promote best practice communicating through weekly meetings, toolbox talks and site briefings. At times there will be a requirement to work away from home during the week within your region where overnight and mobility allowances will be paid. You’ll also get to oversee pre-construction phase of projects such as coordinating meetings, site surveys, pre works access and procurement for equipment and materials.
Pay and Benefits
- £55,000 to £65,000 pa depending on skills and experience + Bonus + Paid Overtime.
- 37 Hours per week Monday to Friday typically 8am – 4pm.
- 26 Days leave plus 8 statutory days, an excellent contribution pension scheme – max total 18%.
Requirements
- Minimum HNC / NVQ Level 4 qualification in mechanical, civil or electrical discipline.
- Site Manager and Temporary Works Coordinator experience or SMSTS.
- Can prove a good understanding of CDM regs and quality management systems as supervisor under NEC.
- An awareness of Project, Contract and Stakeholder management.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- NEBOSH, National Grid – CP, Substation experience.
