We’re looking for a Team Administrator to support the smooth running and daily challenges of a dynamic, busy team. This is a role for someone who likes helping others. You’ll be keeping your colleagues organised, saving them time and stress, and providing all the support a successful team needs to thrive. You’ll have the satisfaction of seeing your work come together and providing colleagues with what they need to get their jobs done. In doing so you’ll play an important part in delivering the infrastructure we need to reach Net Zero and national energy security. This is a fantastic chance to learn about how a national business is run. You’ll be present at key meetings, have access to senior leaders and see a side of the business that few others do.

This role provides comprehensive team and facilities support to ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of the Great Grid Partnership team and is responsible for managing schedules, coordinating meetings, handling communications, and maintaining accurate records.

About You

You love people and can quickly develop great relationships across all levels of an organisation. You’d have no trouble challenging or pushing back to get your job done. You're a natural influencer and effective communicator. You know how to treat people like customers and instil trust in everyone you interact with. You like to help and are entirely trustworthy. You will have access to a significant amount of confidential information so you must be someone who respects confidentiality and always acts with discretion and integrity. You genuinely thrive in chaos. Plate spinning comes naturally to you and you’re able to prioritise your own workload while dealing with any curveballs that come your way. Likewise, you’re great at anticipating what your team members need before they ask. You want a manager who will always support you, be completely open and help drive your development.

What You'll Do

  • Ensuring that expenses, purchase requests and recruitment administration are managed efficiently.
  • Taking comprehensive notes and keeping on top of actions.
  • Preparing managers ahead of meetings, ensuring logistics are organised and that there are as few surprises as possible.
  • Acting as the lynchpin of the team; you will keep everyone up to date with what is happening and what they need to do.
  • Raise and manage purchase orders for the GGP team, including maintaining good records and trackers.
  • Support the onboarding and offboarding process, raising IT requests for system access and equipment for new starters.
  • Using PowerPoint for a number of different tasks, such as collating slides for team meetings and coordinating presentations.
  • Using Excel to create and maintain records such as purchase orders, action logs, onboarding and offboarding trackers.
  • Playing a major part in overall team engagement; you will enhance the GGP presence in and outside the office, always prioritising team, development, and one-to-one meetings.
  • Keeping the GGP team moving forwards; whether it’s coordinating logistics for off-site events or making sure your team is briefed and fully prepared for their meetings.
  • Proactively offering support to your teammates wherever it is needed, whether it’s a big event, ad-hoc project work, or IT issue.
  • Acting as a trusted confidante to your colleagues.

What You'll Get

A competitive salary between £33,000 – £36,000, dependent on capability. As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%. You will also have access to a number of flexible benefits such as a share incentive plan, salary sacrifice car and technology schemes, support via employee assistance lines and matched charity giving.
