Overview

A value position with a high-level focus, critical for the delivery of business targets.

As the Process Improvement Manager, you\’ll take the lead in fostering a culture of continuous improvement within National Grid\’s Asset Operations (AO) business. This involves leading an established centre of excellence team dedicated to this purpose. Aligning with the Asset Operations Opex Plan, you will deliver initiatives that demonstrate efficiency to meet our objectives. Additionally, managing and executing projects aimed at creating value across the business.

Utilising business insight and analytics, you\’ll confidently present to senior stakeholders the business cases to drive improvement and value. You will collaborate closely with the whole business to identify areas requiring intervention for improvement, manage business wide improvement schemes like Improve AO, AI Hackathon and champion transformation initiatives. Moreover, you\’ll provide valuable coaching and mentoring support for improvement projects within AO. You will actively contribute to process development and improvement initiatives, while also leading and supporting improvement projects, collaborating with leaders and teams to implement continuous improvement behaviours, methodologies, and tools for sustained progress.

National Grid\’s Asset Operations business maintain the high voltage electricity network in England and Wales. That includes c.4,500 miles of overhead line, about 900 miles of underground cable and more than 300 substations.

This role is based out our Warwick offices, and we\’d hope to see you at least two days per week but you\’re welcome to be in the office more often if that would work best for you. We\’re happy to discuss any additional flexibility in working patterns or requirements that you feel could help to make this job work for you!

What are the requirements?

The ideal candidate for this role should possess a solid background in leading business improvement initiatives with strong leadership skills. Be a self-motivated individual who can operate autonomously and use their own initiative. You should have a strong commercial acumen and a track record of delivering tangible value and business improvements. A qualification in Lean Six Sigma or a similar improvement methodology is preferred but not essential. Proficiency in data management and manipulation is essential. Excellent interpersonal skills are crucial for building robust relationships and effectively engaging and managing stakeholders with diverse perspectives. Above all, we are looking for someone who is passionate about creating and driving value within the organisation.

What You\’ll Get

Salary range between £60,000 – £70,000 dependent on experience.
