About the role
As a Customer & Stakeholder Engagement Advanced Apprentice at National Grid you’ll be part of our Customer Network Development (CND) team, playing a key role in connecting homes, businesses and communities to the energy network. Within this role, you will contribute to National Grid’s mission to enable the energy transition and support a more sustainable future. The CND team is actively redesigning how customers are connected to energy, focusing on reducing lead times and improving customer satisfaction.
In this role you will gain experience in enhancing the customer and stakeholder experience, including:
- Providing support to enhance customer and stakeholder engagement by managing complaints, maintaining customer data, and contributing to performance reporting.
- Assisting in key projects and initiatives, including the Quality of Connections customer satisfaction incentive and stakeholder engagement plans.
- Facilitating customer journey workshops and helping design processes that improve overall experience and satisfaction.
- Ensuring compliance with business management systems and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
- Providing flexible team support, helping coordinate activities that align with the wider strategy to enhance customer and stakeholder interactions.
Location
This role is based in the Warwick office and may offer flexible and hybrid working throughout the programme. You will be required to attend training at our Training Centre in Eakring, Newark, which could include multiple and frequent nights away from home. Stakeholder and site‑based meetings are likely to occur in this role and may involve travel to locations that are not your office base. While you do not require a driving license, you will need to ensure that you meet travel requirements to Eakring and other sites as required for training, which can be met through public transport if you do not drive.
About you
- You will have, or be predicted to achieve, a minimum of five GCSEs with grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), including English language and Maths or equivalent.
- Applicants for this position must be at least 18 years of age by the start date of the programme (1st September 2026).
You do not need prior work experience; the determination and will to succeed is far more important as we will teach you everything you need to know. The role will enable you to acquire a variety of skills including transferrable skills to support your career development within National Grid.
