At National Grid Ventures, we're enabling the transition to a cleaner, more secure energy future.

Our Interconnectors business operates critical infrastructure that connects Great Britain to neighbouring European energy markets, helping to move electricity where it's needed most. With 7.8GW of interconnection capacity across our portfolio, we play a vital role in strengthening energy security, supporting decarbonisation and providing access to affordable power.

As we continue to deliver some of the UK's most innovative energy infrastructure projects, we're looking for a Senior Contract Analyst to support major development and construction programmes, including our pioneering Offshore Hybrid Asset projects, LionLink and Nautilus.

We're currently recruiting for a Senior Contract Analyst on a 12 month contract to cover maternity.

As a Senior Contract Analyst, you'll join our Construction team and play an important role in supporting the commercial management of a diverse portfolio of development and construction contracts.

Working within a dynamic project environment, you'll help ensure our contracts are effectively managed throughout their lifecycle, supporting the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects while maintaining compliance, managing risk and driving value from our supplier relationships.

You'll work collaboratively across multiple teams in a matrix environment, partnering with project stakeholders, suppliers and the wider Contract Management team to ensure the right contractual approaches are adopted and successfully implemented.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially-minded professional who enjoys working with data, building strong relationships and contributing to the delivery of strategically important projects.

The role is hybrid with our base office on Warwick, there will be travel to site occasionally so you must drive with a full UK driving licence.

What you'll do

  • Managing a portfolio of small to medium-sized contracts, acting as the key Contract Management lead and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and internal governance processes.
  • Supporting procurement activities, including commercial assessments, financial analysis and contract negotiations.
  • Assisting with the development, review and drafting of contract documentation.
  • Monitoring contract performance and identifying commercial, contractual and financial risks, escalating issues where appropriate.
  • Providing advice and guidance on contract-related matters to stakeholders and project teams.
  • Supporting leadership reporting, presentations and business performance updates.
  • Leading supplier review meetings and supporting stakeholder engagement activities, with a focus on contractual performance, commercial outcomes, forecasting and delivery against cost and schedule commitments.
  • Developing and implementing plans to address supplier performance, commercial and contractual issues.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, drive consistency and embed best practice across the organisation.
  • Supporting the onboarding, development and coaching of new team members.

What you'll need

We're looking for an experienced contract management professional with strong commercial awareness and a collaborative approach.

You may already be working within a client organisation, or you may have gained relevant experience within a consultancy, contractor or infrastructure delivery environment. Experience within construction, engineering, utilities or major infrastructure projects would be advantageous, but isn't essential.

You'll also bring:

  • Experience supporting the delivery of multiple projects and contract portfolios.
  • Knowledge of contract management and supplier relationship management principles.
  • An understanding of procurement processes and commercial negotiations.
  • Experience reviewing and analysing contractual and financial submissions.
  • A working knowledge of contract management systems and contract administration processes.
  • An understanding of contract law principles and commercial management practices.
  • Knowledge of contract change management and cost management processes.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard forms of contract, such as NEC4 PSC, NEC4 ECC or similar.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present information clearly and confidently to a range of audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
