Job Purpose
The Data Management Senior Analyst plays a key role in driving excellence in Master Data Management (MDM) and Data Governance across National Grid, with a particular focus on SAP S/4HANA and Master Data Governance (MDG). The role is responsible for the accurate, timely, and controlled creation, maintenance, and governance of Customer, Vendor, Business Partner, and Finance Master Data. As a subject matter expert in MDG processes and technology, the individual will ensure master data is managed in accordance with governance policies, control requirements, and business objectives.
Working closely with business stakeholders, data owners, and global teams, the Data Management Senior Analyst will drive improvements in data quality, governance, and operational efficiency while helping shape future ways of working and supporting the adoption of best practices across National Grid. The role is also accountable for supporting audit activities, facilitating control walkthroughs, maintaining audit evidence, and ensuring compliance with internal control frameworks and regulatory requirements.
In addition, the role will support digital transformation initiatives through the adoption of Microsoft Power Platform and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, identifying opportunities to automate processes, enhance data quality, strengthen controls, and reduce manual effort. The successful candidate will lead and support master data, governance, and business transformation projects, applying project management disciplines to define requirements, coordinate stakeholders, manage risks and dependencies, and deliver sustainable business value in line with agreed scope, timelines, and governance standards.
Knowledge, Experience and Technical Know How
- SAP MDG and S/4HANA expertise, with strong knowledge of Finance, Customer and Vendor master data governance.
- Experience supporting audits, control walkthroughs, evidence collection and compliance activities.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, with strong analytical and data presentation capabilities.
- Skilled in producing dashboards, reports and management information to support business decisions.
- Strong stakeholder management, with confidence to challenge, reject or lift non-compliant requests.
- Collaborative team player with experience working across functions to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
- Committed to a career in Data Governance, MDM and Data Quality, with a focus on continuous development.
