An excellent opportunity for a Site Manager to deliver meaningful work that will ensure continued reliability of the electricity network in a fast-paced environment. Achieving the safe and efficient completion of multi-million pound OHL (Overhead Lines) projects through effective planning and people management. This role can be based at Bushbury in Wolverhampton or Pentir in North Wales operating across West Midland, Cheshire and North Wales.
Pay and Benefits
- £51,899 to £65,000 pa depending on skills and experience + Paid Overtime.
- Job requirement company Car (Hybrid or full electric only) + paid travel.
- 37 hrs p/w Monday to Friday.

The role
In the project construction phase you’ll be National Grid’s Site Manager ensuring delivery of OHL construction-based projects for new build electricity transmission towers or refurbishment works. As a single point of contact you’ll manage site works in full compliance with approved national grid procedures and CDM regulations, this includes the supervision of resources for National Grid teams and sub-contractors ensuring robust health and safety management processes are maintained. Promote best practice communicating through weekly meetings, toolbox talks and site briefings. At times there will be a requirement to work away from home during the week within your region where overnight and mobility allowances will be paid. You’ll also get to oversee pre-construction phase of projects such as coordinating meetings, site surveys, pre-works access and procurement for equipment and materials.
Qualifications, skills and experience
- Minimum level 4 qualification in mechanical, civil or electrical discipline.
- Site Manager and Temporary Works Coordinator experience.
- Can prove a good understanding of CDM regulations and quality management systems as supervisor under NEC.
- An awareness of Project, Contract and Stakeholder management.
- Full UK driving licence.
