Pay and Benefits

• Starting salary up to £61,525 pa including London Allowance.
• + £10,000 pa SAP allowance – paid on completion of Senior Authorised Person qualification.
• 37 Hours per week Monday to Friday 8am – 4pm (Days only).
• Paid Overtime.

The role

As an Electrical Engineer you’ll start your journey gaining site experience and completing your core training, progressing with further classroom based and on-site training which means short periods away from home. Once you have the necessary safety authorisations in place which will roughly take 18 months you’ll then progress to become an SAP (Senior Authorised Person). Your base salary will increase to £54,859 pa. Due to the nature of the work you’ll be required for emergency call outs on a standby rota roughly 1 week in 5. For this you’ll receive a standby payment plus call out fee and paid overtime.

You’ll lead on various projects within high voltage electricity substations, supervising teams of fitters and ensuring safe systems of work are followed. Sharing your knowledge and expertise you’ll ensure completion of maintenance, refurbishment or replacement works on a variety of plant and equipment including circuit breakers, transformers and protection systems. Your development and training will continue, you will be surrounded by a fantastic team of experienced and professional Engineers that will support your development and progression every step of the way.

Qualifications, skills and experience

• Minimum NVQ Level 3/ONC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification.
• You have a good all-round engineering background – electrical bias.
• You must be able to commit and attend training courses at our Eakring site in Nottinghamshire and other sites which will require short stays away from home to complete your training.
• You will be available for standby rota providing reactive call outs for emergencies.
• Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
• Substation experience, Supervisory experience, NEBOSH, IOSH.

You will be required to live within 60 minutes travel of one of the following locations: Bexley, New Cross, Beddington or Wimbledon.
