National Grid is hiring Associate EPC Project Managers for our Customer Connections Team based in Lancashire.

About the role

In this role you will develop, sanction, deliver and close a number of network connection investments to time, cost and specification in accordance with the Network Development Process. You will ensure health, safety and environmental issues are managed throughout the process and projects deliver the business regulatory, stakeholder and customer commitments.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the investment process during pre-construction, delivery and closure for less complex projects or support EPC Project Managers to develop and deliver more complex projects.
  • Drive customer and stakeholder satisfaction through positive customer engagement and work proactively to resolve issues in a timely manner, recording engagement in CRM.
  • Be responsible for various trigger points in respect of the Quality of Connections Incentive, which will generate customer feedback. Once received, take direct ownership for acting on that feedback.
  • Develop, sanction and deliver the least cost, optimal, efficient and safe solution in line with CDM Regulations and SHESQ considerations.
  • Undertake the required site and condition assessments, and support the consenting, type registration, cost estimation, programme risk mitigation and innovation activities to enable the delivery vehicle to implement the solution on site.
  • Produce all required project documentation, ensuring governance is maintained throughout the investment process whilst also demonstrating the implementation of lessons learned and best practice.
  • Develop, implement, and manage project delivery, design, safety by design, commissioning, scheme closure and post-completion requirements.
  • Establish the most efficient contracting strategy for the project, ensuring production of competent Site and Works Information and that the tendering process is completed in timescales required for successful project delivery.

About you

  • Good Project Management skills including management of risk for delivery of projects to scope, time, cost, quality, safety and security of supply.
  • Relevant Degree or equivalent qualification(s) and/or relevant experience in a related field.
  • Technical knowledge of the Electricity Transmission System.
  • Essential to have a current full UK driving licence.
  • Understanding and experience of Safety and Environmental legislation, practices and policies.
  • A customer-centric approach to delivering a high-quality output.
  • Experience of stakeholder management.
