Job Introduction
Are you a skilled and reliable vehicle mechanic/fleet technician seeking a new opportunity? Come and join us and be part of the Operations Support Transport Team.
Based at our Hinckley garage you will be working 37 hours per week Monday to Friday, playing a vital role in maintaining the vehicle fleet.
You will work on a variety of specialist vehicles ensuring they are fit for purpose and ready to support our engineers in the field through effective inspection, maintenance, fault diagnosis and repair.
Main Responsibilities
Maintaining the fleet safely, efficiently, and in compliance with NGED, regulatory, and manufacturer requirements, ensuring vehicles are available to support core business operations. Working safely and efficiently at all times, in line with NGED policies and defined safe systems of work.
- Effective inspection, maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair (minimising vehicle downtime)
- Supporting legal compliance and contributing to cost effective fleet operations.
- Carry out routine servicing, repair and maintenance to DVSA and manufacturer’s standards for heavy goods vehicles, light commercial vehicles, trailers, plant and associated ancillary equipment.
- Prepare and present vehicles for annual testing and inspections.
- Evaluate the cost‑effectiveness of repairs versus replacement for routine service items.
- Road test vehicles and accurately diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
