An opportunity is available for an Electricity Distribution Network First Responder to join us, based at our depot in Redruth. Our electrical engineers are the backbone of our organisation and play a pivotal role in restoring electricity supplies for our customers. Working alone, you will often be the first person our customers meet and we hope, the colleague who resolves their issue.

You will have strong links to other Field Operations teams who can support onsite, when necessary, but on the whole, you will be the face of National Grid onsite, providing solutions and an exceptional customer experience.

Some of the issues our customers could need you to resolve include:

  • Loss of supply at their property
  • Safety concerns on our network
  • Carrying out asset inspections
  • Fitting meter isolator switches

You will work 37 hours a week and subject to business need there may be requirement to undertake standby duties to provide coverage for our customers 24/7.

You are required to hold a recognised Level 2 Electrical qualification (NVQ/City).
