An opportunity is available for a Team Leader based at Barnstaple who will report to the Field Operations Team Manager and will be responsible for leading a group of Craft (operational) staff. The key focus of this role is to lead an efficient and productive team across a region. Key considerations for the successful running of your team include:
- Ensuring they are working compliantly within H&S policies
- Coordinating programmes of work for them to undertake
- Maximising efficiencies in delivery
- Ensuring your team has the appropriate development and authorisations
- Effectively managing performance on a 1:1 basis
This is a crucial role to help drive forward performance and give our large teams the support they need in the field.
The starting salary will be £45,492 moving to £49,369 on completion of training.
Main Responsibilities- Ensuring your teams adherence to Health and Safety regulations
- Efficient scheduling of work activities

We are looking for an excellent communicator, who has the ability to build strong relationships with our customers. A problem solver who is organised and can plan ahead. You must have a proven track record of managing teams including managing and driving performance, as well as experience of being the point of escalation for both internal and external stakeholders. You’ll need a good understanding or the ability to quickly develop knowledge of:
- Electricity Safety
- Health & Safety Legislation
- Quality & Continuity Regulations 2002
- Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
- The NGED distribution business
- NGED Craft roles and activities undertaken
Some Commercial and Financial awareness would be an advantage. A NRSWA qualification or understanding of NRSWA legislation is desirable however, full training can be provided. You must hold a full, valid UK/EU driving licence as you will be required to carry out site visits.
