Join the National Governance Association and help deliver high-quality events and membership services that support our members, subscribers, partners and wider governance community.
As Events & Membership Services Assistant, you’ll provide practical, administrative and customer service support across NGA’s events programme, webinars, membership services and marketing activity.
What You’ll Do
You’ll work with the Membership Services Coordinator and Conferences and Events Lead to support the planning, coordination and delivery of in-person, hybrid and online events, while helping members and subscribers receive a timely, helpful and consistent service.
- Support the planning and delivery of internal and external events, webinars and related marketing activity.
- Coordination of event logistics including venues, schedules, equipment, catering, accessibility, suppliers and delegate materials.
- Provide on-the-day event support, including registration, attendee flow, exhibitor coordination and safe event delivery.
- Administer webinars, including speaker preparation, platform setup, accessibility settings, live technical support, recordings and reporting.
- Respond professionally to member, subscriber and customer enquiries across phone, email and online channels.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, support data cleansing, produce reports and help improve membership services and engagement.
- Assist with partner and sponsor communications, event promotions, renewals, lapsed memberships and group subscription processes.

- Strong organisation, prioritisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage a fluctuating workload and meet deadlines.
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- A thorough, methodical and professional approach, with honesty, integrity and the ability to stay calm under pressure.

What We Offer
- Salary of £26,227.50 to £29,000 per annum, depending on experience
- Hybrid working: two days a week at NGA’s Birmingham office and three days working remotely
- 25 days’ annual leave, plus bank holidays and three days Christmas closure, increasing with continuous service
- Flexible working arrangements and the option to buy and sell annual leave
