Reporting to the Head of Estimation & Risk, the Technical Officer supports Estimators and Risk Engineers with cost estimates, risk registers, and performance reports, ensuring outputs are accurate, timely, and aligned with governance standards. Acting as a key point of contact, you will coordinate information flow, respond to queries, and support collaboration across stakeholders. The role also contributes to maintaining and improving team processes, including procedures, standard practices, and workload tracking. Through data analysis and reporting, you will support informed decision-making and help drive the efficient delivery of team priorities.
About The Role
- Supports the Head of Estimation & Risk in close collaboration
- Coordinate estimation requests and manage workload tracking, ensuring priorities align with business needs
- Support data collection, benchmarking, and validation to produce robust, evidence-based estimates
- Maintain cost databases, unit rates, and benchmarking tools
- Administer estimation systems (Eclipse), including licences, user accounts, and technical support (SPOC)
- Coordinate Risk & Estimation Statements of Support (SoS)
- Support development and maintenance of risk registers and risk data
- Administer risk systems (Predict!), including licences, user accounts, and technical support (SPOC)
- Coordinate day-to-day activities and maintain workload and resource tracking tools to support the function
- Work closely with Estimators, Risk Engineers, Finance, and project teams
- Organise team activities and act as first point of contact for queries
About you
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills
- High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and consistency
- Experience working within structured processes or governance frameworks

- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proactive and self-motivated with strong problem-solving ability
- Full UK driving licence
