About The Role

As a Project Manager, you’ll take responsibility for delivering a portfolio of multi‑million‑pound construction and engineering projects, ensuring they meet essential safety, quality, environmental and regulatory requirements. You’ll have end‑to‑end ownership—from initial requirements and scope development, through design, delivery and handover.

This is a high‑impact role where you’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams, technical experts, contractors, and key stakeholders to drive world‑class project outcomes across our network.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead the delivery of complex, high‑value engineering projects to time, cost, quality, and safety targets.
  • Manage project scope from technical specification and concept design through to detailed design, construction, and closure.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project progression.
  • Champion world‑class safety performance, ensuring compliance with Process Safety, FPSA requirements, and CDM 2015 responsibilities.
  • Drive innovative design approaches that incorporate human factors, buildability, access, maintenance, and whole‑life asset value.
  • Develop and execute contract strategies (NEC4 Option A, C & E), monitoring contractor performance and driving continuous improvement.
  • Plan and coordinate projects with operational teams to optimise outage planning and minimise disruption.
  • Provide accurate monthly cost and schedule forecasts and deliver regular risk assessments to keep governance compliance.
  • Oversee annual budgets of approximately £50m, demonstrating strong financial controls and commercial acumen.

About You

You’ll bring strong engineering project management experience, ideally gained within high‑hazard environments such as terminals, compressor stations, pipelines or above‑ground installations. You’ll also have:

  • Demonstrable leadership and the ability to influence and engage diverse teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • In‑depth understanding of NEC4 contracts and financial management processes.
  • Strong organisational and planning capability, with a proven ability to prioritise and deliver large‑scale project portfolios.
  • A valid UK driving licence.
  • HNC/HND (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline.
  • (Desirable) Degree‑level education and/or Chartered status, plus training or qualifications in Health, Safety & Environmental Management.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance for this role.   • Proven experience managing large‑scale engineering or construction projects.
  • Experience controlling or delivering annual budgets in the millions.
  • Strong commercial acumen and contract management capability.
  • Experience working with NEC4 contracts (essential).
  • Experience leading multi‑disciplinary teams and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Technical knowledge of project planning, design, and delivery in high‑hazard or regulated environments.
