About the Role
Play a vital role in keeping the UK’s gas network safe, reliable and running at its best. As a Site Controller you’ll be the go‑to person for safe operations on site, making sure critical national infrastructure runs smoothly.
What you’ll be doing:
- Manage the safe setting to work for all site activities, championing a strong safety culture
- Authorise permission documents and complete safety/technical inspections
- Keep accurate operational records and ensure compliance with legislation and industry standards
- Support the installation, commissioning and integration of new assets
- Contribute to emergency response and security procedures as Incident Controller or Site Main Controller
- Monitor third‑party work and protect vital plant, systems and equipment
- Assist with maintenance activities to improve site performance and asset reliability
- Join the standby rota once fully trained (typically 1 week in every 4‑5), responding to a range of site issues
About You
You’re a hands‑on engineer, technician or operative with strong operational and maintenance experience. You take pride in safe working, enjoy problem‑solving, and can stay calm and confident when working under pressure. Essential – Key Requirements & Experience
- Experience in a mechanical, electrical, instrumentation or operations discipline
- Strong skills in fault finding, maintenance and technical decision‑making
- Understanding of hazardous‑area equipment and Safe Systems of Work
- Knowledge of safety, environmental and compliance requirements for UK legislation
- Appreciation of multidisciplinary engineering within Oil & Gas, power, chemical or process industries
- Full UK car driving licence

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
