About the role: As Senior E&I Technician, you'll provide a clear operational interface across Kings Lynn and Diss Compressor Stations during major control system replacement projects, ensuring all activities align with operational requirements, technical standards, and safe systems of work. This role combines coordination with hands‑on operational responsibility, maintaining close engagement with assets, permitry, and maintenance to ensure decisions are practical, safe, and suitable for a live environment. You’ll play a key role in driving visible safety leadership, supporting contractor collaboration, and maintaining strong site governance.
What you'll be doing:
- Provide technical support to site and delivery teams
- Respond promptly to technical queries
- Locate and interpret operational and as‑built drawings
- Attend progress meetings and provide input on plant operations and limitations
- Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements
- Provide SCO 91 permit guidance and support submissions
- Lead by example on safety, driving compliance and promoting best practice
- Carry out operational duties such as Site Controller, Authorising Engineer, and Competent Person (SCO/91 & 94)
- Remain hands‑on with maintenance activities to stay close to assets and operations
- Manage setting to work in line with safe control of work procedures
- Initiate and manage G35 modification processes through design, installation, commissioning, and closure
- Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, HAZCON and LOPA studies
- Participate in a standby rota once fully trained, typically one week in every four or five
About you: You’re a technically strong and safety‑focused professional with experience across operations and project delivery in a live environment. You’re confident influencing decisions, working closely with multiple stakeholders, and providing practical, experience‑led guidance. You communicate clearly, take ownership, and lead by example in maintaining high safety and operational standards.
Key requirements & experience:
- Experience in procurement, design, delivery and commissioning
- Process Safety qualification
- Time‑served apprenticeship
- HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electrical or Instrumentation
- Strong understanding of safe systems of work and permit systems (including SCO/91 & 94)
- Ability to interpret technical documentation, drawings, and risk assessments
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience working across multi‑site operational environments
- Involvement in G35 modification processes
- Participation in HAZOP, HAZID, HAZCON or LOPA studies
- Experience balancing operational responsibilities alongside delivery work
Security clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
