We are looking for a Head of Supply Chain & Commercial to head up the function in the West region. You will manage and deliver supply chain and commercial performance and value in the pre and post award commercial and contracts environment, adhering to central processes and governance. The role covers the complete project and portfolio lifecycle from inception to operations, decommissioning and closeout.

About The Role
In this strategic senior leadership role, you will lead and manage the West region’s Supply Chain & Commercial team, acting as a coach and mentor, fostering a positive, collaborative and high-performing team environment.
You will lead and manage the pre-award and post-award teams on activities including pricing, commercial models, contract reviews, and business and project risks. You will develop commercial intelligence across all functions in the region and develop commercial talent.
Overseeing procurement activities for the cost-effectiveness of the region is a key part of this role, along with financial management activities, including managing project budgets, forecasts and reports.
You will ensure high standards are kept in line with compliance, policies, procedures and governance, and develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, conducting regular commercial risk assessments and reviews.
Another key aspect of this role will be to develop and maintain commercial performance metrics and KPIs. You will prepare and present regular commercial performance reports to senior management and stakeholders and ensure transparency and accuracy in reporting commercial information.
About You
The successful candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, including experience managing and developing remote teams. You will need proven experience in Utilities, Construction, Oil & Gas or a similar industry, with a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities.
Demonstrable experience on large individual projects c.ÂŁ100m+ and portfolios of work with multiple smaller projects at ÂŁ3-5m+ per scheme is required.
NEC contract suite experience (especially ECC, NEC3 and NE4 contracts), and managing Procurement teams in a Utilities Contract Regulations or Public Contract Regulations environment (or similar) are required.
You will need proven experience of prime contracts negotiations, proactive and preventative management and close out. Experience in subcontractor and vendor management including claims management and negotiation is essential.
Proven ability to lead and actively participate in contractual negotiations, claim management, and portfolio commercial management, are also essential to be successful in this role.
You will role model excellent leadership behaviours, fostering a culture of openness, trust, and collaboration, inspiring the team and stakeholders alike.
The role requires national travel to various offices and sites, with a company car provided, or cash alternative.
