The National Gas Museum in Leicester holds the world’s largest and most significant gas history collection. The Museum is part of the National Gas Museum Trust, and the Trustees are seeking to appoint a Director for the Trust to lead the development and implementation of the Trust’s ambitious strategy and 5-year plan. This is an exciting new opportunity for someone to take on the important role of telling the history of the gas industry in a compelling way, showcasing the stories of those people who shaped and played a part in the industry, for audiences today and for generations to come.
About the role:
- Strategic Leadership and Governance: Working with the Board of Trustees, develop and implement the Trust’s strategy and strategic action plan. Lead the Trust’s commitment to its vision and mission, ethos and values, acting as a champion for the preservation of the history of the gas industry. Ensure compliance with charity law, financial regulations, and health, safety and safeguarding legislation. Ensure fit for purpose governance structures and processes are in place to meet the Trust’s obligations. Embed and implement risk management processes to identify and monitor strategic and operational risks. Report regularly to the Board of Trustees, preparing papers, operational updates, and budget reports.
- Fundraising, Grants and Partnerships: Lead the Trust’s fundraising strategy, securing income.
