By managing threats to the organisation, we safeguard the systems that enable our business to function safely and effectively, as entrusted by our stakeholders. About The Role As a Cyber Threat Hunter here at National Gas, you will: Protect National Gas systems, assets and people from Cyber Security threats, by identifying advanced threats missed by security solutions Create, conduct and report on threat hunting activities that seek to identify unknown malicious activities on the National Gas internal network Conduct intelligence-led hunting hunts, drawing from both internal and external threat intelligence to design activities that will improve the security posture of National Gas against new and emerging threats Generate meaningful outputs for internal stakeholders ensuring that these teams get value from the information generated from threat hunts. Research current and existing threat actor Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) to gain a deep understanding of the threats that National Gas currently faces. This is a hybrid role based between home and our Warwick HQ, and the closing date for applications is 13th June 2025. About You Experience working in Security Operation Centres, Incident Response or Threat Hunting and associated technologies used by these roles and functions Expertise with cloud security tools and platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Microsoft 365) Superb documentation skills in order to provide high quality documentation for internal customers and technical teams Good knowledge of Active Directory and Entra, knowledge of Endpoint Operating System fundamentals Demonstrable expertise in threat hunting practices and methodologies with experience in Threat Intelligence platforms and sources Understanding and experience with Windows and its related logging/telemetry Practical experience responding to common threats such as malware, and social engineering.
