What you’ll be doing:
- Providing trusted commercial support to Project Managers and maintaining strong contractual relationships.
- Overseeing a portfolio of contracts, ensuring smooth and effective administration throughout.
- Managing project finances - from spend-to-date tracking to accurate forecasting aligned with contract terms and governance.
- Supporting risk management activities and maintaining the Risk Register alongside the Project Manager.
- Contributing to tender evaluations and negotiations, providing expert commercial advice at every stage.
- Leading on dispute resolution by offering professional, solutions‑focused guidance.
- Ensuring contracts are administered professionally while keeping stakeholders informed of all commercial matters.
- Working closely with project teams to identify efficiencies and improve commercial performance.
- Maintaining detailed financial and project records.
- Mentoring and supporting Junior Quantity Surveyors and wider team members, helping to develop future capability.
About You
You’ll be proactive, detail‑driven, and experienced in navigating complex commercial landscapes. You’ll bring clarity, leadership, and sound judgment to every challenge. Essential Key requirements & experience:
- Experience in a construction‑based Quantity Surveyor role.
- Proven experience on major construction or utilities projects.
- Strong working understanding of NEC two‑stage ECI and NEC3/NEC4 (Options A, C & E).
- Demonstrated leadership and advanced contract/project management capability.
- Full UK car driving licence.
Desirable:
- BSc (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying.
- Experience line managing or mentoring Quantity Surveyors.
- CICES or RICS chartered status.
Security clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
