About The Role
This role is all about coordination, connection and delivery. As our Apprentice & Planning Coordinator, you’ll work closely with the internal programme manager, training providers, line managers and other internal teams to facilitate high‑quality technical training and support apprentice development across NGS. You’ll help translate training requirements into clear, workable plans – making sure apprentices have the right training, at the right time, to build competence and confidence as they progress towards their first post roles. You won’t be running the Early Careers programme itself, but you will be key to making sure training and development happen smoothly and effectively.
What You’ll be Doing
- Working closely with training providers, line managers and internal teams to coordinate technical training delivery
- Planning and scheduling apprenticeship training in line with competency needs and the annual learning plan
- Ensuring apprentices receive the right mix of training and on‑the‑job experience to support their development
- Tracking apprentice progress and adjusting training plans where needed
- Acting as a day‑to‑day point of contact for apprentices on training, planning and system queries
- Supporting the set‑up and coordination of end‑point assessments
- Managing practical arrangements including travel, accommodation and equipment for training delivery
- Identifying gaps in training needs and feeding insights back to central teams
About You
You’ll be organised, collaborative and comfortable working across multiple teams. You enjoy coordinating activity, building strong working relationships and turning training requirements into clear, practical plans. You’re proactive, detail‑focused and genuinely care about supporting apprentices to develop the skills they need to succeed.
Essential
- Experience in planning, coordination or scheduling roles
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders
- Experience supporting structured training, learning or development programmes
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt plans as needs change
Desirable
- Experience working with apprentices or technical training environments
- Safeguarding or pastoral experience
- Understanding of operational or technically focused roles
- Experience working with external training providers or assessment centres
