The Controls and Oversight Coordinator is part of our Technology Security Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) team, providing cross-functional support across Controls & Oversight, Governance, Policy & Standards, Reporting & MI, and Capability & Readiness.
The role ensures National Gas meets regulatory, governance and assurance expectations by supporting policy management, evidence gathering, control testing activities, MI/reporting, readiness coordination, and governance processes across IT, OT (Operational Technology), CNI (Critical National Infrastructure), Cyber and Physical security domains.

Key accountabilities
- Support NIS (Network and Information Systems) and CAF (Cyber Assessment Frameworks) assessments through evidence gathering, documentation review and preparation of submissions.
- Support control testing and assurance reviews across IT, OT, CNI, Cyber and Physical Security by facilitating and arranging appropriate stakeholders
- Support the completeness and quality reviews of evidence for control attestations and regulatory reporting.
- Support the facilitation and arrangement of appropriate stakeholders for policy reviews and working groups
- Support the production of dashboards, metrics, reporting packs and undertake data validation and trend analysis.
- Support readiness assessments, capability reviews, exercises, and tracking of remediation actions.
- Prepare materials for governance forums and assist with security culture and communications activities.
- Collaborate across the function to support overall facilitation and recording of meeting agreements, challenges, and actions.
About you
- Experience or strong interest in Governance, Risk, Compliance (GRC), Cyber Security, or Security Governance.
- Understanding of IT, Cyber, OT, CNI or Physical security environments (high-level is acceptable at entry).
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret information and produce clear outputs.
- Strong written communication skills, including ability to produce structured reports and documentation.
- Good organisational skills with ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power BI, Power Point).
- Ability to work collaboratively across technical and operational teams.
- Experience supporting policy development, control testing, reporting, or governance processes.
- Familiarity with security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST CSF, NIS/CAF, IEC 62443, SOGP).
- Experience in data analysis, dashboards, or MI reporting.
- Experience or familiarity working in regulated or critical infrastructure environments.
- Experience or familiarity with GRC tooling or evidence management systems.
- Relevant certifications (Security+, ISO 27001 Internal Auditor/ Implementor or willingness to work toward them).
