About the role
Help turn project updates and performance data into meaningful insight across a £600m+ capital programme in our East Region.
You’ll work closely with project and programme teams to understand how investment is progressing, bring together the story behind the data, and give leaders the insight they need to make informed decisions.
Why this role matters
Our East region covers strategically important infrastructure, including seven compressor stations and Bacton Gas Terminal, alongside a significant programme of capital investment.
You’ll provide the link between project teams, sponsors, and senior leaders, building a clear picture of portfolio performance. By understanding what’s happening across our projects and translating information into meaningful insight, you’ll help identify emerging issues, support better decisions, and strengthen confidence in delivery.
What you'll be doing
- Partner with Senior Project Managers and Project Managers to understand project progress, risks, milestones, and emerging issues
- Consolidate project updates and performance information into clear portfolio-level insight
- Prepare Programme Board reporting that gives senior leaders a meaningful view of performance and areas requiring attention
- Work with Project Sponsors and delivery teams to understand challenges, dependencies, and opportunities for intervention
- Attend project review meetings to build an informed view of delivery performance and follow through on key actions
- Use existing reports, dashboards, and data to identify trends, risks, and insights that support better decision-making
- Develop and improve reporting where needed, ensuring information remains clear, relevant, and focused on delivery
What you'll bring
This role would suit someone who enjoys looking beyond the numbers, building relationships with project teams, asking the right questions, and translating complex information into clear insight for others.
- Experience in project, programme, portfolio, or performance reporting within a complex delivery environment
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to draw meaningful conclusions from changing or incomplete information
- Experience working closely with project or programme teams to gather, understand, and challenge delivery information
- Ability to consolidate multiple project updates into clear portfolio-level insight
- Confidence building relationships with and constructively challenging project teams, sponsors, and senior stakeholders
- Experience preparing concise reporting and insight for senior-level forums
- Good Excel skills and confidence working with project and performance data
- Experience within a large capital investment, infrastructure, utilities, or engineering environment
- Understanding of project controls and measures relating to cost, schedule, milestones, risk, or delivery confidence
- Experience using Power BI or similar reporting and visualisation tools
What we offer
- Market-leading double-match pension (up to 12% company contribution)
- Annual performance bonus up to 6%
- Access to the Tusker salary sacrifice car scheme
- 10x salary life assurance and income protection
- Flexible benefits including healthcare, dental, and technology options
- Family-friendly policies, wellbeing support, and professional development opportunities
