About the role

The Investment Performance Analyst plays a key role in supporting regional investment planning and performance management through the provision of high-quality analytics, reporting, and insight. The role is responsible for assuring data quality, interpreting complex performance information and providing evidence-based recommendations that support effective operational and planning decisions. Working across a range of stakeholders, the post holder helps drive continuous improvement in reporting and performance management and deputises for the Investment Performance & Strategy Manager where required.

What you'll be doing

  • Produce and coordinate accurate, timely performance reporting across the regional investment portfolio.
  • Analyse complex performance data to identify trends, risks, opportunities and the underlying causes of performance variances.
  • Provide clear, evidence-based insight and recommendations to support operational, planning and investment-related decision making.
  • Assess, reconcile and validate data from multiple sources, ensuring performance information is accurate, consistent and fit for purpose.
  • Investigate data quality and performance issues, working with stakeholders to identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Develop and enhance reporting tools, dashboards and analytical processes to improve the quality and accessibility of business information.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of reporting, forecasting and performance management processes through the effective use of data and technology.
  • Build effective working relationships with Planning & Performance, Finance, Engineering, Delivery and other business stakeholders to ensure a consistent understanding of performance.
  • Communicate complex analytical findings clearly and confidently to a range of audiences, providing appropriate challenge and professional judgement where required. #LI-CW1

What you'll bring

This role would suit someone who enjoys turning complex data into clear, actionable insights has a keen eye for detail. You'll be a collaborative problem-solver who is comfortable working with stakeholders to drive investment performance, support informed decision-making, is confident building complex analytical models and undertaking root cause analysis.

Qualifications

  • Degree, apprenticeship or equivalent experience in a numerate discipline such as business, economics, finance, engineering, mathematics, data analytics or a related field.

Experience

  • 5 years' + experience of performance reporting, business analysis, or financial analysis.
  • Strong analytical capability with experience working with large, complex datasets from multiple sources.
  • Experience of interpreting data and providing evidence-based recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including experience of data modelling.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across multiple functions.
  • Ability to present complex information clearly and confidently to a range of audiences, tailoring communication appropriately.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
