As an Investment Portfolio Analyst, you’ll play a key part in helping our Asset & Engineering teams make smarter, evidence‑based investment decisions. By collecting, validating, and analysing data, you’ll provide trusted insights that support operational performance, long‑term planning, and strategic direction across our portfolio.
What you’ll be doing:
- Collecting, cleaning, and transforming data from multiple sources to ensure quality and consistency.
- Analysing investment portfolios and performance data to uncover trends and actionable insights.
- Monitoring data quality, identifying anomalies, and advising on improvements.
- Producing clear, engaging reports, dashboards, and visualisations that help colleagues make informed decisions.
- Maintaining documentation for datasets, tools, and processes.
- Supporting senior analysts with deep‑dive analysis, variance and trend analysis, and reconciliation work.
- Identifying opportunities to improve tools, processes, and ways of working within a continuous improvement framework.
- Collaborating with internal strategy, planning, cost and investment teams to keep portfolios aligned with business priorities.
About You
You’re naturally curious, detail‑focused, and eager to grow your analytical capability. You enjoy working with data, asking questions, and turning complex information into simple, meaningful insights for others.
Essential Key requirements & experience:
- Experience of supporting process improvement and continuous improvement (CI) initiatives, helping to identify efficiencies, documenting and improving business processes, and contributing to the delivery of operational improvements.
- Advanced Excel skills (Macros, XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, validation checks etc).
- Hands‑on experience working with data and carrying out insightful analysis.
- Logical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- Clear, confident communication skills and the ability to work with colleagues at all levels.
- A strong interest in data and analytics with the ability to interpret information and produce clear insights.
Desirable:
- Regulated asset environment experience.
- Experience with analytics tools such as Power BI.
- Knowledge of decision‑support tools such as Copperleaf or AIM.
