Gallery Educator (Maternity Cover)
National Gallery
Region: London
Job Type: Part-time This is a fixed-term contract. The post-holder will be required to work on-site Tuesday โ Friday.
Closing Date:7/12/25
The National Gallery is looking to recruit a highly creative Gallery Educator on a fixed term basis for up to 12 months, who is a practising artist and confident to lead sessions using artforms including printmaking, drawing and painting.
Gallery Educators plan and deliver a programme of work in line with the National Galleryโs Learning Strategy. They contribute to teaching a comprehensive programme of talks, tours, workshops and participatory activities for schools, families, young people, and adults across the free and ticketed public programme. Teaching is mostly in the galleries and The Roden Centre for Creative Learning but includes online and outreach sessions. The post-holder will also develop supplementary content and resources for EYFS, primary and secondary school pupils and their teachers.
Although the post-holder will work across audiences and programmes, the nature of this appointment means that they will predominately work with schools, including special schools.
They will specifically be leading sessions (discussion based and practical sessions) for children and young people, including pupils with disabilities and additional needs, in the galleries and in the Roden Centre for Creative Learning, specifically from The Clore Art Studio and The Creative Space. Sessions are always inspired by paintings in the National Gallery Collection.
Become a member of a supportive and resourceful network of museum and heritage educators.
