This is a role with National Fostering Group as a Supervising Social Worker with NFA Wales, an independent fostering agency within the National Fostering Group. NFA focuses on creating high quality foster homes for children and young people and empowers foster carers to meet their needs.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and advise foster carers, ensuring that carers and children have the support they need to thrive.
  • Visit homes, maintain contact with carers and young people, and act as a safeguarding champion with the best interests of everyone at heart.
  • Maintain lower caseloads to reduce risk and enable a bespoke, person-centric approach.
  • Collaborate with specialist clinical teams to identify and provide appropriate support (e.g., occupational therapy, art therapy, trauma and attachment specialists).
  • Ensure children and young people are safe, well looked after, and that high standards are consistently maintained.
  • Inspire foster carers to grow in confidence and achieve their potential, with a positive impact on the children they care for.

Who we are looking for

  • Passionate about building positive lives for children and supporting foster carers to be their best.
  • Confident and imaginative, with a BA or MA degree in social work; must be registered with the appropriate body and hold a full driving licence.
  • Experience as a social worker with a history of working with young people who have trauma histories and enhanced needs.
  • Willing to take on real responsibility and engage with the support available to perform the role effectively.
