The Service
The National Fostering Group\’s first Residential Family Assessment Centre is based within the Littlehampton area of West Sussex, providing expert parenting capacity assessments for parents, babies, and children.
Our primary purpose is to provide expert parenting capacity assessment. We also aim to provide a safe, secure, and welcoming home that builds confidence and equips parents with necessary skills to parent safely and independently. Families will benefit from 1-to-1 support from designated key workers, as well as shared advice, group learning, social activities, and practical support throughout the night.
Our assessment home will be therapeutically led in delivering interventions, assessments, and parenting programmes. Families will enjoy well-equipped ensuite bedrooms, a large kitchen, communal and therapeutic spaces, and areas for meetings or family visits. Located near parks, the beach, and the town, families can develop skills and thrive both inside the home and in the community.
The Role
You will perform regular checks on residents throughout the night, provide direct support to families, and offer advice on personal care of babies and the importance of routine. You will practice systemic thinking, utilize goal-based planning, and work effectively with relatives, advocates, and others involved with Service Users. You will ensure health and safety, report hazards, participate in team meetings, and maintain high personal standards of confidentiality and cultural sensitivity.
