The Manager, Sponsorship Sales, is a key member of the Business Development team responsible for generating revenue by developing and selling integrated marketing partnerships for the NFL globally. This role requires a highly self‑motivated, proactive seller who can independently identify opportunities, drive initiatives forward, and operate with minimal oversight in a fast‑paced, international environment. This position will work collaboratively across the NFL to identify partnerships that support key initiatives such as International growth, NFL FLAG, audience growth across youth, multicultural and women, and game innovation.
This job posting is for a position with one of the NFL’s third‑party agency partners that provides services to the NFL. The individual selected for this role will be an employee of that third‑party agency and not the NFL. All compensation, benefits, and other terms and conditions of employment are handled by the agency.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing global and local market sales pipeline and partnership development to reach Sponsorship revenue goals.
- Cultivate global and local market category prospects through category analysis and market research, with a focus on international markets without a dedicated new business resource.
- Establish and build relationships with key external contacts (e.g., corporate decision makers at Fortune 500 companies and influencers in the sports marketing and agency world), particularly within the European and global marketing ecosystem.
- Pursue prospects through contact strategy, development and delivery of sales presentations, negotiation, and contract execution.
- Actively contribute innovative thinking and fresh ideas that help lead to new revenue generating sponsorship opportunities and contribute to cross‑functional working groups consisting of key internal stakeholders (e.g., Media, IT, Football Operations, Social Responsibility, etc.) to develop customized marketing platforms that align with prospective partner objectives.
- Develop and write strategic, customized presentations and partnership proposals for prospects.
- Effectively maintain sales pipeline and reporting documents, as well as other duties as directed.
- Line management of Sponsorship Business Development Coordinator, aiding and enabling their contributions to the team in partnership with Director and Senior Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Degree educated (Marketing/Digital, Administration/Business, Finance and/or related)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in sponsorship sales and/or business development experience at league, team, agency, and/or company with demonstrated exposure to European and/or global sponsorship markets strongly preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communicator; ability to build trusted relationships and influence across all levels both internally and externally
- Proficiency in using PowerPoint, Excel, and Word with the ability to create clear, compelling, and highly detailed client‑facing materials
- Multitasking skills and good time‑management skills with the ability to independently prioritize workload and manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
- Passport (for international travel)
- Fluency in French and/or Spanish is preferred, but not required

- Energetic, self‑starter with a passion for uncovering synergies between Fortune 500 brands and the NFL
- Strong knowledge of sports marketing and/or sponsorship landscape
- Proficient in conducting industry research, prospecting, outreach, pitch ideation, and proposal development
- Ability to build trusted relationships and influence across all levels both internally and externally
- Experienced in leveraging network to initiate and develop relationships with senior level marketing executives
