The NFL is seeking a Senior Manager, International Game Development to support the continued global growth of the League. This role is part of the team leading the expansion of NFL International Games, working across the full lifecycle of strategic development - from early market and venue evaluation through to operational planning, and ultimately negotiating and contracting with key host partners.

Since 2022, the NFL has launched new game partnerships across Germany, Brazil, Spain, Ireland, Australia, France, and Mexico, with a clear mandate to expand into additional international markets.

This job posting is for a position with one of the NFL’s third-party agency partners that provides services to the NFL. The individual selected for this role will be an employee of that third-party agency and not the NFL. All compensation, benefits, and other terms and conditions of employment are handled by the agency. The assignment to provide services to the NFL will be limited in duration but may be extended for an additional period by agreement between the NFL and the agency.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Director, International Game Development to support end-to-end deal processes for NFL International Games.
  • Responsible for the creation and management of prospectus materials, commercial proposals and reporting as it relates to the development, discussions and negotiations with new game markets.
  • Support on negotiations and evaluation processes by working with prospective hosts on their commercial and operational questions, working closely with NFL’s Events, Football Operations, Finance, Media and Legal teams.
  • Work in tandem with the leadership of each NFL international market, ensuring that Host partnerships support the growth objectives of that market across fan development, marketing & events and NFL FLAG.
  • Acquire complete understanding of the complexity of the NFL contracting process, ensuring clear channels of communication with the internal stakeholders to make decisions in a highly pressured negotiation process.
  • Work closely with Host partners to develop economic impact studies after each International Game.
  • Support with managing inbound interest from prospective Host partners from around the world.
  • Project manage regular updates to core NFL Hosting Requirements.
  • Coordinate hosting and observer programs for prospective Host partners at NFL tentpole events (including International Games and Super Bowl).
  • Become embedded with core functions across the League to ensure alignment as it relates to international games scheduling, commercial opportunities and broader strategic initiatives (i.e. FLAG, Olympics).
  • Work cross-functionally to prepare presentations for NFL Senior Leadership and Club Ownership, as part of the NFL’s strategic planning processes.
  • Track, analyse and be reactive to global sports trends, transforming insights into strategic recommendations that inform the team’s roadmap for further International Game expansion.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7+ years’ experience in business development, strategy, finance or project management.

Key Attributes:

  • Proven business development or project management experience in international live events and/or within the sports industry, ideally in multiple territories.
  • Working knowledge and familiarity with the global sports landscape, including major sports leagues around the world (Premier League, Bundesliga, etc).
  • Strong attention to detail, especially when multi-tasking across various projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects.
  • Effective partner-facing communication with an ability to handle key stakeholders at the highest levels of government, teams, leagues and venues.
  • Ability to react to complex international environments, with a suitable level of respect and understanding across cultures and language barriers.
  • Confident negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate details to senior management, including the ability to efficiently produce written materials and analysis in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Additional spoken languages are a bonus, but not essential.

Travel:

Regular international travel throughout the year, plus expected attendance at International Games.

Terms/Expected Hours of Work:

NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week in office. Role will require work outside of typical hours to accommodate various time zones.
