About JESIP

JESIP supports emergency services and the wider responder community to work together effectively when preparing for, responding to and learning from emergencies and major incidents. The National JESIP Team works across organisational and geographical boundaries to strengthen doctrine, capability, learning and assurance.

About the opportunity

The National JESIP Team is recruiting 3 JESIP Practitioners to support delivery of the JESIP Strategy, business plan and Theory of Change. These secondments provide a distinctive development opportunity to work on a national programme, broaden experience beyond the successful applicants’ home organisations and contribute to improved interoperability across the United Kingdom.

Each successful applicant will progress an assigned portfolio of work while contributing to shared priorities across the small, multi-agency National JESIP Team.

The portfolios

Doctrine, policy and practice
Training, exercising and capability
Learning, evidence and assurance

Applicants will be asked to identify the portfolio or portfolios for which they wish to be considered. Final portfolio assignments will take account of applicants’ skills and experience and the needs of the National JESIP Team.

As a JESIP Practitioner, you will

Progress agreed activities and outputs within an assigned portfolio.
Contribute to the development and improvement of national doctrine, guidance, training, exercising, learning, assurance and engagement products.
Undertake JESIP assurance visits and contribute to clear, evidence-informed reports.
Investigate and progress Joint Organisational Learning submissions allocated to you.
Build effective relationships across emergency services, responder organisations, professional networks and partner bodies.
Represent JESIP at meetings, workshops, exercises, conferences and training events.
Contribute flexibly to wider team priorities and time-critical work.

Who we are seeking

Applications are invited from appropriately experienced individuals working within police, fire and rescue, and ambulance organisations.
