Eligibility
This vacancy is only open for current fire control operators employed by a local authority fire and rescue service. The role is a transfer in process only.
Responsibilities
Receive emergency calls and manage response operations.
Diffuse stressful situations and mobilise resources and equipment.
Manage vehicles, officers, and incident logs.
Collaborate with firefighters on scene and with public and businesses.
Use the 999eye system for imagery and video to adjust resource mobilisation.
Handle a diverse range of incidents, including fires, traffic collisions, industrial incidents, and other threats to life and property.
Working Environment
SWMFC serves the West Midlands and Staffordshire, covering a population of 3.8 million across a diverse area. Operations are based at the main control room with additional sites for resilience.
