Purpose of the role & how you will contribute:
Working within a high-performing and supportive legal team, the role will require you to provide in-house legal advice on all aspects of the NFU’s lobbying and policy work as a trade association. A trusted source of high-quality in-house advice and support, you will be keen to take on new areas of law and to expand the breadth of your knowledge and experience across a wide range of legal areas. You will enjoy the ability to influence outcomes and will be rewarded by seeing the contribution you have made to changes in the industry. Free from time recording and billing targets, you will have the discretion and autonomy to work on the issues of the day, responding quickly and adeptly to emerging priorities. Supported by the Deputy Head of Legal, you will welcome the responsibility to handle a diverse and complex workload. This is a great opportunity to start or further your in-house career, providing you with a wide range of legal experience.
What you’ll bring:
- You’ll be a qualified solicitor or barrister in England and Wales with a strong academic background and experience delivering legal advice.
- You’ll bring excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly, alongside strong analytical, negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
- Highly organised and adaptable, you’ll be comfortable managing a busy workload independently and as part of a team.
- A commitment to high-quality client service, professional integrity and continuous learning will be key to success in this role.
