Purpose of the role & how you will contribute
To lead the organisation’s health and safety agenda, ensuring compliance with statutory duties and promoting a culture of safety, wellbeing, and proactive risk management. This role covers both headquarters-based office environments and a regional workforce; and as such both some office-based working and travel, spending time out with our regional teams across the country, will be needed. Duties will include auditing, creating suitable documentation, training staff in required processes/procedures, and ensuring our Health, Safety and Wellbeing policies are followed around the country. The postholder will also be responsible for managing health and safety-related procurement and budgets. There are no direct line reports with this post, but an ability to communicate, educate and engage with our staff at all levels is critical.
What you’ll bring
We are seeking somebody who is a team player, excellent communicator, and who is passionate about keeping our people safe and healthy. Ideally candidates will hold CMIOSH status - Chartered membership of IOSH (Institute of Occupational Safety and Health), else be working towards. A diploma or equivalent level qualification in Health and Safety is also highly desirable, but as a minimum you will hold the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Health and Safety. Candidates will ideally have several years’ experience working in a similar health and safety role; and a good level of agricultural knowledge would be hugely beneficial.
