Purpose of the role & how you will contribute
You’ll provide in-house legal and commercial support to the NFU and its subsidiary companies, including contract drafting and negotiation, data protection compliance, and the development of proportionate procurement practices to support value for money, effective risk management and good governance.
What you’ll bring
You’ll be a qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with a current UK practising certificate, bringing strong experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex commercial contracts. With a solid understanding of GDPR and data protection compliance, you’ll be confident advising stakeholders in a practical, business-focused way. Highly commercially aware, you’ll balance legal risk with organisational objectives, applying sound procurement principles and contributing to effective governance. You’ll also be an excellent communicator, able to simplify complex legal concepts, influence at all levels, and build strong working relationships across the business while delivering clear, pragmatic guidance.
