Overview

The National Farmers Union (the UK’s largest farming Organisation) and NFU Mutual (a leading UK Insurer) are recruiting ambitious individuals to build their own successful business as a NFU Group Secretary. In the NFU Group Secretary role you will be employed by the NFU, assist and direct on a variety of issues, sell the NFU’s range of membership services, and champion British farming by representing local farmers and related rural businesses. You will develop and build strong relationships with your customers and members, become a leasing figurehead in the local community, and work in our friendly environment with knowledgeable colleagues. In addition you will act as a local NFU Mutual Agent on a self‑employed basis, partnering with another Agent to run the agency business, sell NFU Mutual’s award‑winning products, develop your business and customer base, and manage your office and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance and direction on a variety of issues for the NFU community.
  • Sell the NFU’s range of membership services.
  • Champion British farming by representing local farmers and related rural businesses.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and members.
  • Act as a leasing figurehead in the local community.
  • Serve as an NFU Mutual Agent on a self‑employed basis, partnering with another Agent.
  • Sell NFU Mutual’s award‑winning range of products.
  • Develop your client base and manage your office and staff.
  • Achieve commission income that is competitive and uncapped by the end of the first year.
