Join National Express as a hands-on Engineering Team Leader and play a key role in keeping our fleet safe, compliant and ready for service. If you're an experienced PCV Technician with strong people-leadership skills, this is your chance to step into a role where you’ll guide, support and develop a high-performing engineering team.

Schedule: Any 5 days from 7 Rotating Days, Nights and Evening shifts
What you’ll do:
- Lead your shift, ensuring all maintenance and repair work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
- Keep our fleet compliant by overseeing inspections, servicing and quality checks in line with company, manufacturer and DVSA requirements.
- Support, coach and develop your team with regular performance and development reviews, while managing performance, conduct, attendance and return-to-work processes consistently and professionally.
- Drive continuous improvement and embed best-practice through the OPERATE framework.
- Make sure technicians have the right tools, equipment and resources—maintaining shadow boards and ensuring everything is accounted for each shift.
- Maintain a safe, clean and well-organised workshop environment.
- Work closely with the Workshop Planner to prioritise workload and minimise downtime.
- Record all maintenance activity accurately to maintain complete compliance.
- Certify vehicles as serviceable following engineering intervention.
- Identify and feed back any technical improvements or modifications.
What you’ll need:
- Proven experience in vehicle maintenance (Ideally 5+ years with PCV Vehicles).
- Proven leadership or mentoring experience.
- IMI Level 3 in Bus & Coach Engineering / Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
- IRTEC or Master Technician certification (PCV/HGV) and competence with diagnostic systems.
- IOSH Health & Safety qualification (or higher).
- Basic IT competency.
