National Express are recruiting a Route Revenue Executive to join our team, based at our Head Office in Digbeth. The successful candidate will ensure that there is an optimal balance of revenue and passenger growth on the core network, using advanced analytical skills to produce and implement thorough strategies to improve performance versus last year and budget. It requires liaising with other teams to ensure a complete understanding prior to making critical commercial decisions.

What you’ll do:

  • Day-to-day pricing changes, including reviewing upcoming peak services and amending the price when necessary.
  • Reviewing changes to our booking trends by flow and service, using this insight to drive yield and passenger growth with pricing.
  • Reviewing periods with rail disruption and key events, such as sporting ties or large concerts, and ensuring that we price appropriately for demand and secure additional capacity where required.
  • Forecasting and quantifying benefit seen from the above rail disruption and events, ensuring that appropriate marketing support is present when necessary.
  • Quantifying impact of network changes, ensuring these are accounted for in reports and that these are taken into account when reviewing pricing.
  • Completing reporting on flow, service and category performance.
  • Developing pricing strategies for routes and flows, in peak and off-peak periods and by day of week.
  • Reviewing capacity requirements for the service and requesting duplication where necessary, ensuring that when necessary a capacity plan is in place to cope with demand.
  • Defining when pricing strategies should be reviewed and reassessed.
  • Incorporating market placement in all strategic thinking, with agility to respond to market movement.
  • Providing support for other analysts, helping them to identify revenue opportunities, to use our internal systems, compile reports and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Deputising for other analysts/managers for cover for annual leave or supporting other areas of the rev man function during peak periods.

What you’ll need:

  • Strong knowledge/background using Microsoft Office (in particular Excel).
  • Previous experience with Revenue Management/Analysis.
  • Experience/understanding of the transport industry is advantageous.
  • Degree in a numerate, analytical, or scientific discipline.
