National Express is significantly expanding its maintenance operations at the Wigston Depot. This presents a dynamic opportunity for PCV Engineers to join a forward‑thinking team and play a crucial role in maintaining our modern vehicle fleet. The role is based on a 4 on 4 off day‑shift schedule and offers a competitive salary of £52,500 per annum.
Responsibilities
- Undertake mechanical, electrical and minor body repairs and, where required, carry out vehicle road tests upon completion of repairs.
- Diagnose and investigate faults on vehicles using specialist diagnostic equipment, carrying out effective, appropriate and sustainable repairs.
- Inspect vehicles to company standards and accurately record and rectify defects.
- Ensure vehicles are serviced and maintained in line with company standards, progressing any modifications, technical instructions or urgent safety checks.
- Deliver on‑the‑job coaching and training to team members less skilled to aid in the development of the overall team capability.
Qualifications
- IMI Level 3 Bus and Coach Engineering & Maintenance or equivalent (proven experience may also be considered).
- IRTEC Vehicle Inspection and Service Maintenance Technician, or willingness to train towards it.
- Extensive experience in either a PCV or HGV environment.
- Full CAT D PCV licence, or willingness to train towards one.
