As a Hatchery team leader, you will be responsible for
Lead the department in the smooth, efficient, economic daily operation of the hatchery Chick Dispatch, to maintain and improve standards of hatcheries, chick quality, hygiene, chick welfare, and overall hatcheries performance.
- Organising daily work routines, paperwork, and scheduling.
- Maintain and monitor the hygiene programme, ensuring the tidiness and cleanliness of the hatchery to required standards.
- Develop and maintain a sound working knowledge of all hatchery equipment.
- To ensure health and safety regulations are strictly adhered to within your areas of responsibility, maintaining a safe working environment for all people at all times.
- To ensure within your area of responsibility all aspects of animal welfare are understood and upheld fully, particularly when handling chicks.
- To ensure the necessary attention is given to all aspects of hatchery operation which may affect hatchability and chick quality.
- To report immediately to the Manager / Assistant Manager any occurrence, which could affect hatchery performance relating to product, equipment, or labour.
- To contribute positively to good communications between all levels of management and operatives so that people are motivated and aware of all issues relating to their work.
