National Express is on the lookout for a sharp, fast thinking Digital Creative with a major focus on copywriting to join our in-house marketing team.
National Express has been one of the nation’s most loved brands for over 50 years. And it's arguably the most exciting time in our history to be joining the business. The domestic travel market is the most competitive it’s ever been and as we come together with our Spanish partners in Alsa, we’re transforming our digital offering. We’re on the hunt for a Digital Creative to sit at the centre of communicating this change to customers.
In this role, you will turn complex travel routes, key promotions, and cultural moments into clear, punchy, and exciting messaging. You will craft social first copy, engaging CRM campaigns, web content, and performance ads, as well as supporting creative across retail and airport environments.
Do you know how to use AI tools to deliver copy at pace and then have the creative flair to carve it into something unique and exciting? We want your talent on board! This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days at NX House in Birmingham.
What you will actually be doing:
- Bring Ideas to Life: Play a core role in the ideation of our creative concepts in partnership with social and campaign teams, as well as challenging agency thinking.
- Craft Punchy Copy: Write high converting, social first ad copy, headline hooks, and CRM messaging that drive customer action.
- Multi Channel Impact: Adapt your copy for social media, paid performance ads, web pages, airport touchpoints, and in station retail.
- Work at Pace: Turn around concise, accurate copy quickly to keep up with a dynamic commercial travel environment.
- Smart Execution: Use emerging AI tools to speed up production while editing with an expert human eye to ensure industry leading copy standards.
- Pitch & Present: Confidently explain your creative concepts to cross functional teams and inspire agency partners.
What we need from you:
- Solid Background: 3+ years of digital copywriting or creative writing experience, ideally within travel, e-commerce, or consumer brands.
- Strong Portfolio: A body of work showing punchy copy, headline writing, social first thinking, and clear conversion drivers.
- Commercial Mindset: Understanding of performance marketing, SEO, and how words directly influence customer conversion pathways.
- Digital Savvy: Expert knowledge of emerging digital channels and how our coach riders consume content.
- Agility & Editing Skills: Ability to deliver at speed under tight deadlines without sacrificing quality.
